ChallengeAlameda International Jr./Sr. High School recently expanded its IB program offerings to include the Career-Related Programme, a distinctive program available at only a few schools. The school's objective was to increase awareness and enrollment for the CP among current Alameda students as well as students throughout the Denver-Metro area.
With Colorado's open enrollment policy, students can apply to schools outside their assigned districts. Alameda aimed to leverage its strategic location in Lakewood, near Denver, to attract students from both the Jeffco Public Schools district and the Denver Public Schools district. Additionally, given the school's bilingual programs and its location in a predominantly Hispanic community, all promotional materials needed to be available in both Spanish and English. |
SolutionAs the Communications & Marketing Specialist for Jeffco Public Schools, I collaborated closely with Alameda’s leadership to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy. This strategy included the creation of bilingual informational brochures and website content. Furthermore, I conducted Marketing 101 training sessions with the program’s leadership to equip them with the skills necessary to effectively promote the new Career-Related Programme.
ResultsThe implementation of the marketing materials and updated website content significantly raised awareness of the new Career-Related Programme. Alameda International Jr./Sr. High School successfully launched the program and met its target enrollment numbers, attracting students from both within and outside the district.
